Sorellanza Favorites: In Concert

Sorellanza will present a program of favorites from past performances.

There will be two performances in October:

Friday, October 28^th2011, 7:30 p.m. at FirstParish Church, 225 Cabot Street, Beverly

Sunday, October 30^th 2011, 4:00 p.m. at St.John’s, 48 Middle Street, Gloucester

Tickets $12.00

Sorellanza,Sisters in Song, returns to the stage with its Fall 2011 Favoritesperformances. Rockport resident Patti Pike directs the 19-woman a cappellagroup, delighting audiences since 2006.

Sorellanzasings an eclectic mix of songs from many ages and genres, including 16^thcentury madrigals, American Gospel, contemporary pop, sacred, jazz andinternational folk. Pike always includes a Beatles song in the repertoire,honoring their importance in the 20^th century musical lexicon. Morethan half of the group have been with Sorellanza since its inception. Pike’slaid-back style and insightful teaching ability keep them coming back yearafter year. “Her love of choral music is contagious,” says veteran Kate Stevensof Beverly. “She brings out the best in all of us.” The group’s growingaudience base is testament to Pike’s talent and standing in the Rockport musicscene.
